Notes R5 Spell Checker Loads Slowly

Problem:
This issue can be caused by a User.dic file that contains some corruption or by
a large User.dic file.

This issue was reported to Lotus Software Quality Engineering, and was
addressed in Notes 5.0.8 Client and in Notes 6.

SPR# HUR46ALVE - Load time performance of Spell Checker has been improved.


A workaround is to rename the User.dic file in the Notes \Data directory (for
example, rename it to User.old) and restart the Notes Client. This process
creates a new User.dic file in the \Data directory. Note that starting with a
new User.dic file means you will lose any customized words that you previously
added to your user dictionary during past spell checking sessions.Supporting Information:
